Last night I finally got to see someone I have admired for many years now, Melanie Martinez. In today's blog post, I thought I'd do a Melanie Martinez concert review.

The first thing I want to say is how amazing the dancers were, they were all on time. Each and every one of them. You could also absolutely tell they were putting so much effort into their dancing. They were very very good and they really helped bring the show to life.

This show wasn't any ordinary show, it was more of a musical, her show was a live version of her theatrical film 'K-12' which accompanied her album which was also called 'K-12' It had a story, which I loved, I really appreciated the effort that was put into the show, the thought, and creativity that was put into this show really shined through while you were watching her perform. It was just magical, I find it really impressive that Melanie Martinez thought of this story all by herself.

Melanie had so much personality and energy and portrayed her character seemingly, effortlessly, and she sounded so beautiful in person, her vocals were incredible. She didn't really talk to the crowd at all the whole show but that's because she stayed in character the shole how until she started singing some of her old songs at the end of the show which then she started talking to the audience more.

 Overall the whole show was incredible, she was in character, her voice was beautiful, she really did bring her album 'K-12' to life which I think is insanely amazing. The costumes were spot on, the makeup, the hair. Melanie and the dancers really did complement each other is the best way possible.

Melanie Martinez at the O2 Apollo Manchester

 Music is a big part of my life, not only is music just absolutely incredible but it helps me to escape some of the bad times in my day to day life. I listen to music on the bus to university, when I'm cooking, when I'm walking and when I'm just sitting in bed writing. I'm actually listening to music right now. Music is my savior, it helps me cheer up when I'm down and it helps me with my confidence. I've listened to a lot of music this past month so it was hard to create a list of my November favorites, but I did it! I don't actually listen to a variety of people, I listen to the same artists. I'm rather fussy when it comes to music and I'm not sure if that's a good or bad thing, but here are my November Favourites! 






Let's talk about MARINA a.k.a Marina and The Diamonds, she is just marvelous. Her songs make me so happy and make me want to dance. Some songs make me want to cry, she has such a range of different songs. She has bad bitch songs, sad bitch songs and just overall giant pop bops. She is so versatile when it comes to her music, her first album 'The Family Jewels' is very witty and alternative. Her most recent record 'LOVE + FEAR' is so simple yet so beautiful. It's a record split into two halves, one side being 'LOVE' which has songs about love and the other side being 'FEAR' which has songs about different fears. I couldn't recommend MARINA's music enough to be honest, so go listen!

Next up on the list, Kim Petras! I'm a new fan of Kim's and I have not been disappointed so far, I've been listening to Kim since around October time as she released the other part of her Halloween album 'Turn Off The Lights' which by the way, I LOVE! The songs on that album are just creepy bops. I love it so much, but this song 'Icy' is from Kim's album 'Clarity' that was released in June. Icy is a big fat BOP! I can't stop listening to it!

Lana Del Rey.... the witchy bitch. I have been obsessed with Lana Del Rey since 2012 when she released her album 'Born To Die' which I haven't stopped listening to this month. Which is why Ride is on my playlist for November. This song is just so heavenly to listen to, the lyrics, the melody. Perfecto.

Allie X is a QUEEN. I have been a fan of hers for yearsssss.... her songs are just incredibly catchy and just great. She put out an analog version of her recent album 'Super Sunset' and I haven't stopped listening to it this month, so I included a song from that and a song from her older album. The song 'That's So Us' and it is so magical, it's such a chilled pop song. Allie X's voice is so unique and beautiful.

LADY GAGAAA!!! Lady Gaga is like a mum to me. If you know me personally you know how much I love this woman. She has helped me through the darkest of times, she has pulled me out of the deepest and darkest of depressions. I have been a fan of hers for 11 years, she has been the soundtrack to my life. There are NO words to describe how grateful I am to have her on this Earth creating such beautiful music. This month, I've been listening to her album 'Born This Way' a lot, especially the songs I've added into this playlist. Scheiße is a fake-german underground rave song. She wrote this song in Germany and it's one of my favourite songs from Gaga. It's just a banger!!! I've heard it live 3 times, I just never get bored of this song. The other songs on this playlist are also just perfection but there's a special place in my heart for Scheiße.

Finally, we have a song from Melanie Martinez's brand new album 'K-12' I'm obsessed with the song I've added into this playlist, what a song. The melody of this song just makes my body jerk, it's so catchy and just overall a great song. I wanted to add 'Wheels On The Bus' from the same album but I couldn't take any of these songs off this November playlist.

My November Playlist

If you know me, you know that I absolutely love coffee shops. There's something about going for afternoon tea after a day in university that is so relaxing and comforting. So on Friday Jacob and I took a trip to Chester and decided to finally go to The Jaunty Goat. This is a coffee shop that I've wanted to go to for such a long time and was so excited to finally get round to going... To say it was beautiful is such an understatement.

 I think interior design is such an important key factor when it comes to a coffee shop, personally, when I want to go to a new coffee shop that I haven't been to before then I first of all look at the interior design because I'm a sucker for a rustic, warm-toned, homely interior. If you're like me and are drawn to these things in a coffee shop then The Jaunty Goat is for you. The interior is what caught my eye, absolutely months ago whilst searching the web for a coffee shop near me.

 They had cakes upon cakes that we sadly didn't try out but they looked absolutely incredibly yummy, we ordered a hot chocolate and a latte which was creamy heaven in a cup. We spent an hour or so sat at a pure rustic wooden table, tucked away amongst the foliage, chatting about life and taking countless photos. After a lot of thinking, I'm going to give the Januty Goat a 9/10, based on the lovely customer service we received, the beautiful interior design, the tasty drinks, and the overall vibe. Chester Gems: Jaunty Goat Coffee Shop



If you know me, you know that I absolutely love coffee shops. There's something about going for afternoon tea after a day in university that is so relaxing and comforting. So on Friday Jacob and I took a trip to Chester and decided to finally go to The Jaunty Goat. This is a coffee shop that I've wanted to go to for such a long time and was so excited to finally get round to going... To say it was beautiful is such an understatement.

This photo I took was of a random kitty that appeared during this photoshoot of our pumpkins! 



Hey guys! Long time no speak! Yesterday me and Jacob (www.jacobblackwell.co.uk) carved pumpkins to get in the Halloween spirit. We've actually been in the spirit since the 1st October, this is our first time carving pumpkins as a couple. We wanted to remember this day as we would love to start doing it as a Halloween tradition.

We bought our pumpkins from our local Tesco, we burrowed through all of the ones they had to find the biggest, plumpest pumpkins they had!




These are our pumpkins we picked ourselves.

After we got it all setup, we then hollowed them out and made sure there was no seeks left inside. We then drew what face we were going to carve! Mine is really spooky, Jacob opted to do a traditional pumpkin face!

Here is my pumpkin! I'm so proud of this, it took me a good hour too!

Pumpkin Carving
   





This photo I took was of a random kitty that appeared during this photoshoot of our pumpkins! 



Hey guys! Long time no speak! Yesterday me and Jacob (www.jacobblackwell.co.uk) carved pumpkins to get in the Halloween spirit. We've actually been in the spirit since the 1st October, this is our first time carving pumpkins as a couple. We wanted to remember this day as we would love to start doing it as a Halloween tradition.

We bought our pumpkins from our local Tesco, we burrowed through all of the ones they had to find the biggest, plumpest pumpkins they had!




These are our pumpkins we picked ourselves.

After we got it all setup, we then hollowed them out and made sure there was no seeks left inside. We then drew what face we were going to carve! Mine is really spooky, Jacob opted to do a traditional pumpkin face!

Hey guys! It's been a while, I'm not sure if you know but I went to go see my Idol last month. That Idol being Lady Gaga of course, and I'd like to share with you my whole experience.



I originally bought the Joanne World Tour tickets back in February of last year, but unfortunately Gaga postponed the European tour due to her illness 'Fibromyalgia' and of course I understood this decision 100% as I'd rather see her at a later date than her be in pain. So I waited almost one year to see her on January 31st at Birmingham Arena with my best friends, Jacob, Katy, Dave and Sasha.



We left for the train from my house at 8:00am ( EARLY I KNOW ) I live in Wales and getting to Birmingham took around 2 hours in total. We got into Birmingham at 10:30am. We walked around for a little bit, and then we decided to attempt to find our hotel ( It was a disaster ) Jacob used Google Maps on his phone but it ended up taking us in a big circle. 



We finally came to the decision to hop into a taxi and get a taxi instead. We arrived at the hotel at 12:40pm, we checked it and went to our room. Now, Me and Jacob were in a different room to Sasha, Katy and Dave. As one room couldn't fit 5 people, so Sasha and them stayed in one room and me and Jacob stayed in another. We had a little pre-gaga party in Sasha's hotel room while we got ready and had a little drink.



I bought some festival face glitter for the concert as I wanted to sparkle things up a little. I will provide you with a photo of our glitter faces below: 









We left to go line up at the arena at around 3-4pm, the doors to the arena opened at 6pm so we were in the queue for around 3-2 hours. Maybe longer, it started to snow, it started to rain, it was very cold and it was all worth it 100% as we were so close to Gaga, it was UNREAL. The queue took forever to move but we finally got in, we entered the main arena and something amazing happened.




As I'm a MASSIVE, HUGE, DEDICATED Lady Gaga fan (Little Monster) I know the names/faces of her crew members. I was standing around looking at all the people and as I was on the floor, I saw Alex ( Alex is Lady Gaga's personal photographer and Gaga's sister's boyfriend ) I said hey to him and how I love his work, and he asked us if we were liked to be interviewed! I was like "URM YES OF COURSE I WOULD" I asked him if it was for the Joanne World Tour DVD and he said yes! and he said that Gaga herself might see the video! So he asked us a bunch of questions, and then at the end asked us if we have any messages for Gaga. So we did! 



The show started at 8:30pm, her opening act was HERSELF. Gaga played her new Netflix Original Documentary 'GAGA: Five Foot Two' which was amazing to watch.



Then the show actually began, the 10 minute countdown started and when it hit 0 all I heard was Gaga shouting "CALL ME JOANNE" and then performed Diamond Heart. The setlist was the best, she played all my favourite songs! Here is the entire setlist:

The whole show was the best thing in the entire world, no matter where I was I could see her, at one point she was in touching distance! She was so close and gave me eye contact so many times! She's so beautiful. Overall the whole show was a 12/10! Outstanding, the lights, the music, the stage, the pyrotechnics, the stage presence, the crowd and obviously the woman herself, Lady Gaga. She poured her heart out, she put so much effort into every song and the best part of it is that she can actually sing incredible live, WHILE dancing non-stop in heels. TALENT!!!!

Best night of my life.

My Lady Gaga Joanne World Tour Experience





Hey guys! It's been a while, I'm not sure if you know but I went to go see my Idol last month. That Idol being Lady Gaga of course, and I'd like to share with you my whole experience.



I originally bought the Joanne World Tour tickets back in February of last year, but unfortunately Gaga postponed the European tour due to her illness 'Fibromyalgia' and of course I understood this decision 100% as I'd rather see her at a later date than her be in pain. So I waited almost one year to see her on January 31st at Birmingham Arena with my best friends, Jacob, Katy, Dave and Sasha.
