As you may know by now the very popular Netflix Original Series '13 Reasons Why' is now a worldwide phenomenon. But why? In this post, I will be telling you why this series is a MUST WATCH and is very important to today's society and generation.

It's real, it's authentic.
In this series, it really doesn't sugarcoat mental health. It's realistic, it doesn't hide anything. & that's exactly what we need in this moment of time. Not many people get taught mental health and what can happen to people with mental health issues. It also shows what bullying can really do. It's an amazing and educational message.

People with mental health issues feel more understood.
As a person who struggles with mental health issues on a daily basis, I do actually feel more understood. For years I've found it very hard to find people who understand my daily struggle. & It's hard to find someone who understands how you feel, so after watching this and seeing it go worldwide. I do feel more understood now people have seen the effects of bullying and how mental health issues are caused & what It can do overtime.

Spreading awareness of mental health is always an amazing thing.
Mental health really doesn't get enough attention, this series pays so much attention on the topic, having a whole series about the topic is amazing. Letting people know how yes, everything builds up and when that happens, people will have enough. They will feel the only way to stop all hatred is to end there own life. This series tells you how to treat others how you want to be treated. No one ever knows what others are going through right now and showing how bullying can lead to suicide is a very important message. Educating people who don't really understand mental health, is always one step forward.

It shows you, the impact and how they feel.
Each episode something happens which impacts Hannah Baker's life which makes her feel and behave differently, showing us how the build-up happens and how she acts. Showing how much it impacts Hannah Baker's life, it really makes you understand why people do, sadly, take their own lives. This is important to know, so in the future if you notice anything up with anyone close to you, you can ask them if they're okay. If they didn't show the impact of these things that happen to Hannah, then you wouldn't be able to notice anything. Suicide is a silent killer so it's very hard to know when someone is feeling that way, but it's possible. You just have to know the signs.

You do learn some valuable life lessons when watching.
This series really makes you think about the way you act, which is such a good thing, because in this generation, people don't care about hurting anyone, as they don't know how they feel. Watching this, kind of makes you feel how the victim does feel, I certainly cried so much watching this. It made me feel sad because of how many people go through what Hannah Baker went through every single day. It was one event after another. Pure hatred. It makes you realise how much things hurt.

It covers LGBT topics.
In the series, it doesn't really talk about LGBT issues that much, it just talks about how hard it can be trying to come out so someone. & how scary it is. The fact they even have LGBT characters in this series is amazing.
